There will be a briefing on July 17, on the changed planning situation, and the upcoming Cheshire West consultation on changes in the borough. This is organised by Kelsall Parish Council and Neighbourhood Plan team .
To adapt to increased housebuilding targets and new planning rules, Cheshire West and Chester are updating their Local Plan – the key planning document for the borough.
They will be consulting on the options for delivering increased housing, and their amended planning rules, starting in early July. Key changes include yearly mandatory target for 1,921 houses (up from 532), weakening Green Belt rules. While the local plan is updated, Councils are required to approve most planning applications in order to meet the targets.
The changes will have significant impacts on Kelsall and other villages and the Neighbourhood Plan team is keen to help residents take part in this important consultation. We will hold one session from 2pm to 4pm, and again at 6pm to 8pm, in Kelsall Community Centre.
