DISTRICT COUNCILLORS
The Kelsall Ward is represented at Chester City Council by:
Hugo Deynem - Conservative Party (elected May 2007)
"The main issues raised in Kelsall during the election campaign
were road safety, particularly on the minor residential roads and in the vicinity of
the Co-op and the Morris Dancer, anti social behaviour and local policing. I shall
be focusing on these issues and am particularly keen to assist and support
the Parish Council in the excellent work they do on behalf of the residents of
Kelsall. I shall be holding a regular surgery in the village and will also
publish an annual review of the work I have undertaken as Kelsall's
representative on the City Council.
I sit on the City Council's Scrutiny Committee for Development & Regeneration,
covering Housing, Forward Planning and Economic Development, and on the Highways
LJC (local joint committee), which is a joint committee with the Cheshire County
Council and addresses all matter of highways related issues. I am also a
member of a number of sub committees related to the Highways LJC."
Andrew Garman - Liberal Democratic Party (elected May 2006)
Andrew Garman has lived in the ward for 20 years and is an experienced
campaigner on a wide range of issues affecting local people. He was elected
on a platform of safer roads, improved recreation facilities and tackling
anti-social behaviour. With progress being made on these issues, a fourth
priority was adopted in 2007, called 'building sustainable communities':
Andrew is concerned that villages such as Kelsall are too dependent on
getting in a car to access shops and services elsewhere and that, as a
contribution to minimising climate change and to improve access to those
without cars, efforts should be made to build up local shops, services and
facilities. Andrew Garman is the Lib Dem Spokesperson on Heritage and the
Environment on Chester City Council.

COUNTY COUNCILLOR
The Kelsall Ward lies within the Gowy Division of Cheshire County Council.
Eleanor Johnson - Conservative Party (elected on 27/9/07)
"I was honoured to win the election on 27/9/07 with an increased percentage of the vote
from 2005. I have lived and worked in the area for all my life, so I am aware of many of
the issues that concern local residents, but I am always very keen to hear from you with
any problems that you may have. I am very pleased that Cheshire County Council was able to
help fund Kelsall's Village Design Statement, this is a very important document that will
allow residents to have their say on what developments take place within the village."
Cheshire County Council's website contains a
wealth of information on how the County Council functions.

as the Member of Parliament for Eddisbury (Conservative). I am easily contacted as
