Peter John Mackriell, vicar of St Philip's Church is 46, married to Jo and has three children (aged 21, 18 and 13). Since entering the Ministry in 1991 he has held curacy posts in Hale & Ashley and Marple before moving to become Vicar of Brandwood (Birmingham) and subsequently Vicar at Pontblyddn (St Asaph). Jo is a Reader in the Church of Wales and their son Jacob has been leading worship in the Rise services in Chester. Peter's commissioning service at St Philip's was on 6th February 2011.

St. Philip's is the Parish church for the village of Kelsall. The Church is situated in the middle of the village on Chester Road.
Our aim is to be:

  • committed to God
  • connected in worship and fellowship
  • concerned for our community

  • The church has a Sunday School, now called SPLASH (Sharing, Praying, Learning, Activities, Singing and Having fun); meet in church at 10.30 a.m. before going to the Church Lounge.
  • For older children and teenagers there are the Whatever (Sunday morning) and Whatever Next (Sunday evening) groups.
  • 'Little Fish' (for under 5s) meets in the community centre - assemble in church first at 10.30 a.m.
  • Morning Prayer is said in Church on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9.00 a.m. All welcome.
  • On the second Wednesday of each month there is a short service of Holy Communion at 9.00 a.m.
