The Branch Surgery at Great Barrow (Barrow Village Hall, Village Road) is held on Fridays at 2.00pm. Doctors attend by rota.
Phone Calls : If you wish to speak to a doctor the receptionists will take your details and a doctor will contact you later. If you require a visit please contact the surgery before 10.00am if possible.
Booking an appointment : For morning appointments, ring after 8.00am to book for that morning. If you require an early appointment ring at 5.30pm the night before for one of the first 4 slots. All other types of appointments can be made anytime in advance.
Results of Tests : Please ring after 10.00am for the results of blood and urine tests, x-rays etc.
Out of Hours : Use the surgery telephone number (01829-751252) or ring direct (01244-343300). There is always a Doctor on call when the surgery is closed. Before 10.00pm your call will be diverted to the local triage service in Chester. After 10.00pm your call will be diverted to NHS Direct who will offer help and advice, and will pass your call to a locally based GP where necessary.

Western Cheshire Primary Care Trust has launched a new service to provide extended access to GP services. Do you currently have trouble fitting appointments to see your GP/Practice Nurse into your busy life? Do you struggle to get to your GP practice during the day? GP Care Plus may be the answer! All patients registered with a GP practice locally are now able to ring a central phone number (01244-364700) to book an appointment with a GP or a Practice Nurse between 6:30pm and 8:00 pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am - 12noon Saturdays. The clinics are held at St Martin's Clinic (Chester), Ellesmere Port Hospital and at two different bases in the rural area Helsby Health Centre (Mon-Tue) and Tattenhall (Wed-Sat). The GP and Practice Nurse you see will have access to a summary of your clinical record and will return the detail of your consultation to your surgery.
